I had a wonderful time working with the young musicians of this youth orchestra in Buenos Aires under the direction of an old friend, Flavio Garber. Flavio and I met during a conductors’ workshop in Aix-en-Provence, France over a decade ago and have kept up our friendship ever since. The work that he is doing with youth, university music students, and professional musicians throughout Argentina is impressive and is a vital part of supporting the culture of this marvelous country.
