Matjaž Drevenšek Orchestra Residency

Renowned as one of the top saxophonists in the world, Maestro Drevenšek is on the music faculty at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia and his visit to Minneapolis was based on a partnership between the two universities. Matjaž performed in concert with the Augsburg University Orchestra during his residency and was able to spend some time working with students in master classes. Before his visit to Minneapolis, Maestro Drevenšek had been in Costa Rica to attend the international saxophone festival in that country and performed with the National Band of San José. So, Rafael had the pleasure of hosting an artist who had been well received by his Costa Rican colleagues just two weeks earlier and to share memories of their newly made mutual friends! Both musicians look forward to collaborating again in the future.
